Stars sink Bacone 9-0

Diallo collects four goals for OCU

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University breezed past Bacone 9-0 on Thursday night at Stars Field.
Aboubakr Diallo, a senior from Oyem, Gabon, notched three goals in the first half of Thursday's match to lead the Stars. OCU improved to 9-2, 4-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer.
Diallo now has tallied 18 goals this seasons to extend his conference lead. Diallo's goals were assisted by James Beattie twice and Kevin Chissoe.
Gustavo Mendes, a freshman from São Paulo, Brazil, got OCU on the board scoring off a Diallo assist in the fifth minute. Fernando Toledo, a junior from São Paulo, Brazil, followed him by scoring in the sixth minute set up on Beattie's and Petar Djurdjevic's attack. The Stars' next goal came in the 22nd minute off a cross by Diallo to Beattie, who found the open Mendes, who made his second goal of the day.
Djurdjevic set up Andrija Sreckovic, a junior from Kragujevac, Serbia, in the 38th minute. Djurdjevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, added three more assists to his team-leading 14 assists.
Oklahoma City fired 43 shots, 23 on goal. Bacone did not attempt a shot on the day.
Danilo Vilani, a freshman from Carrollton, Texas, got his first start for the Stars in the goal and notched the shutout.
OCU takes on 13th-ranked defending NAIA champion Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
