Stars carry four-game winning streak into Thursday’s contest

THE MATCHUP
• Oklahoma City opens the second semester of the season with a home tilt against Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas)
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID

ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City most recently knocked off Bacone 62-59 on Dec. 16 at the Palmer Center. Alexis Hill hit a free throw with one second left to put OCU ahead by three points, then the Stars kept Bacone from attempting the game-tying shot before the final buzzer. The Stars (10-2, 4-0 SAC) won their fourth game in a row despite shooting 18.2 percent from 3-point range in the win over Bacone
Taylor LaCour, a 6-foot-1 junior from Georgetown, Texas, led the Stars with a game-high 18 points, four rebounds and four blocks against the Warriors. She averages 13.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game
Daniela Galindo, a 5-foot-10 senior from Shattuck, Okla., added 15 points, six rebounds and four assists against Bacone. Galindo ranks third in NAIA Division I women's basketball in points per game, averaging 22.2 points a night
• Hill, a 6-foot-1 senior from Byng, Okla., contributed seven points and seven boards in the victory over Bacone. Hill averages 7.8 points and 6.2 boards a game this season
• OCU ranks sixth in NAIA Division I in both 3-point field goal percentage (37.5) and free throw percentage (76.7). The Stars also secure 30.3 defensive rebounds per game, the eighth highest average in Division I
• Oklahoma City stayed at eighth place in the latest NAIA Division I ratings. OCU has made 23 trips to the NAIA Division I Tournament and captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. OCU appeared in the rankings for the 240th consecutive time since 1997-98 for the NAIA's longest such streak
• The Stars have been installed as the favorite to win the Sooner Athletic Conference in the preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 17th SAC regular-season championships and 11th SAC Tournament title in 2016-17. The Stars have won or shared seven of the past eight SAC regular-season titles and have gone 149-11 (.931 winning percentage) in league play during that span
• In its last meeting with Southwestern Assemblies of God, Oklahoma City dominated the Lions 91-44 on Feb. 23, 2017 at Abe Lemons Arena and clinched its 17th SAC regular-season women's basketball championship. OCU owns a 7-1 record vs. Southwestern Assemblies of God

ABOUT THE LADY LIONS
• Southwestern Assemblies of God comes off a 73-58 loss to USAO in Waxahachie, Texas. The Lady Lions (5-5, 2-2 SAC) allowed USAO to shoot 61.5 percent from 3 and 42.6 percent from the field
• Lexi Rich, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from San Antonio, leads the Lady Lions in scoring with 15.6 points per game. She was held to just three points on 1 of 9 shooting against USAO
• Kiarra Glenn, a 5-foot-5 freshman from Ennis, Texas, turned in a team-high 16 points and four assists against USAO. In her last four outings, Glenn is averaging 17.7 points per game
• SAGU sits right behind Oklahoma City in 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 37.4 percent of its attempts from deep – the seventh best average in NAIA Division I
• Southwestern Assemblies of God was picked to finish eighth in the preseason SAC coaches poll

MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (64-13, third season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 34-2 season, accruing 2017 NAIA Division I and Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year awards
• Overton has coached three all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns

Tiffany Phillips (34-35, third season with SAGU)
• Phillips took Hector (Ark.), Marshall (Ark.) and Morrilton Sacred Heart (Ark.) to state-tournament appearances as a high-school head coach
• She had coached collegiately as an assistant at Delta State (Miss.) and Central Arkansas
