Ingram provides top-ranked OCU with winning runs

CLERMONT, Fla. – Amanda Ingram delivered a two-run double to bring No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University a 2-1 NAIA Softball World Series victory over LSU-Alexandria on Monday at Legends Way Ballfields.
Ingram, a senior from Oklahoma City, smacked the winning double to center field with two out in the top of the sixth inning. The Stars (66-1) face 14th-ranked Corban (Ore.) at 6 p.m. CDT (7 p.m. EDT) Tuesday with a championship game berth at stake.
In the sixth, McRae Cayton had a single to load the bases. Laci Joyner hit a fly ball to right fielder Kimber Gruehl, who threw out Jaci Smith at the plate trying to score on the play. Cayton and Madison Ellis reached home plate on Ingram's double.
In the bottom of the second, Kim Gonzalez put LSU-Alexandria ahead 1-0 with a base hit to shallow right with two out to score P.J. Leon.
Georgia Wall limited 12th-ranked LSU-Alexandria (50-9) to an unearned run on four hits and a walk. Wall, a sophomore from Marlow, Okla., produced seven strikeouts in her 24th complete game of the year. Wall moved her record to 31-0 in 2017 and 59-1 as a Star.
Ingram had a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs, while Cayton, a senior from Irvine, Calif., went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Samantha Stallbaumer, a sophomore from Haven, Kan., went 1-for-3 and swiped her 47th base of the year. The Stars scored two runs or less for the fourth time this year Monday.
