Stars roll to 8-0, 12-0 wins over Sterling

Wall provides OCU with first perfect game since April 21, 2015

OKLAHOMA CITY – Georgia Wall notched a perfect game as No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University blanked Sterling (Kan.) 8-0 and 12-0 on Thursday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
Wall threw Oklahoma City's first perfect game since Abby Meador performed the feat April 21, 2015 in a 6-0 win over Mid-America Christian at Jack Allen Field. The Stars, top-ranked in NAIA softball, improved to 34-0.
Wall, a sophomore from Marlow, Okla., struck out eight and retired each Sterling batter through five innings. Wall (15-0) logged 60 pitches.
Madison Ellis sparked OCU by pounding a three-run home run in the first inning. In the second, Samantha Stallbaumer smacked a two-run double.
Ellis, a senior from Yukon, Okla., went 2-for-2, scored twice and drove in three runs, and Stephanie Koishor, a senior from Valley Center, Calif., was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Stars.

In the nightcap, Laci Joyner hit a two-run double to put OCU on top 7-0 and spark a seven-run fourth inning. Joyner reached home plate when Jaci Smith stole second base. Joyner's run made OCU's advantage 10-0.
Jaden Shores held Sterling to three hits while fanning six in five innings. Shores, a freshman from Blanchard, Okla., went to 7-0.
Stallbaumer, a sophomore from Haven, Kan., went 2-for-2, scored and drove in a run, and Joyner, a junior from Mustang, Okla., went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
OCU takes on St. Gregory's in a 2 p.m. twin bill Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla.
