Stars edge Southwestern 4-3

Littell's two-run home run lifts fourth-ranked OCU

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Jerame Littell crushed a two-run home run to key Oklahoma City University's 4-3 victory in 12 innings over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.
Littell, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., hit a two-out blast to left field to put OCU on top 4-2 in the top of the 12th. The Stars, ranked fourth in NAIA baseball, moved to 25-4.
Hunter Aguirre took his first win as a Star by working a 1-2-3 bottom of the 11th. Southwestern's Justin Freeman had a two-out RBI single to cut OCU's lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the 12th. Tyler Milligan earned his fourth save of the year by retiring Richard Marches on a popup to Garrett Foster.
In the fourth, Oklahoma City built a 2-1 edge. Cory Linn nailed an RBI double, then Lane Milligan hit a run-scoring single to right.
Littell went 2-for-4 with his sixth homer of the year. Linn, a senior from Moore, Okla., was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Milligan, a junior from Englewood, Colo., also went 2-for-5, scored a run and drove in a run.
The Stars face Mid-America Christian at 2 p.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium.
