OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University hosts the Oklahoma City Duals at 9 a.m. Sunday at Abe Lemons Arena featuring three ranked NAIA wrestling teams.
Three other teams, including the Stars, are in the receiving votes category in the NAIA team ratings. Northeastern A&M holds the No. 2 spot in the NJCAA rankings.
Oklahoma City boasts of four rated wrestlers – Bryson McGowan (fourth at 285 pounds), Brok Williams (ninth at 165), Kaden Truelove (No. 19 among 184-pounders) and Matt Landgraff (20th in 149-pound rankings). The Stars went to 2-1 in duals after a 35-7 romp over Bacone on Dec. 6 in Muskogee, Okla. In the inaugural OCU Duals, the Stars went 4-0 with two wins over top-20 competition Dec. 19, 2016 at Abe Lemons Arena.
OCU wrestles York (Neb.) at 9 a.m., third-ranked Indiana Tech at 10:30 a.m., No. 17 Concordia (Neb.) at noon and 15th-ranked Baker (Kan.) at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. OCU's duals will be broadcast live, while live results from all duals will be posted to Track Wrestling.
The nine NAIA teams will bring 38 ranked individuals. Indiana Tech has 10 such wrestlers, including Sawyer Miller (No. 2 at 125 pounds), Erique Early (second at 133), Thomas Garty (third at 149) and Mitch Roadruck (fourth among 165-pounders).
The duals matching top-20 teams will be Baker vs. Concordia at 9 a.m., and Baker vs. Indiana Tech at noon.
