ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City University (6-2) lost a nail biter to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Saturday at the Mabee Gymnasium in the Our Lady of the Lake Classic. The Saints sunk a 3-pointer as time expired and handed OCU a 96-93 loss in double overtime
Daniela Galindo, a 5-10 senior from Shattuck, Okla., exploded for a career-best 37 points against the Saints, hitting clutch shots down the stretch to force overtime. She picked up SAC player of the week for Nov. 20-26 and leads OCU in scoring with 22.3 points per game – the third highest average in NAIA Division I women's basketball
Alexis Hill, a 6-1 senior from Byng, Okla., added 12 points and seven rebounds on Saturday, connecting on 8-of-9 of her free-throw attempts. She averages 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds this year, and is one of only two Stars to record a double-double this season
• Oklahoma City's red-hot shooting from behind the arc has bumped the Stars to 43.0 percent from 3-point range, the second best clip in the NAIA Division I. OCU also ranks 10th in overall field goal percentage, hitting 47.1 percent of its shots
• OCU owns the No. 1 spot in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. Oklahoma City has made 23 trips to the NAIA Division I Tournament and captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars have been installed as the favorite to win the Sooner Athletic Conference in the preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 17th SAC regular-season championships and 11th SAC Tournament title in 2016-17
• In its last meeting with Mid-America Christian, Oklahoma City knocked off the Evangels 96-61 in the SAC Tournament semifinals on March 3. Daniela Wallen scored a career-high 41 points, becoming just the fifth player to score over 40 points in a game in NAIA Division I that season
