THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University meet a pair of Red River Athletic Conference foes in the Southwestern Assemblies of God Classic
• Three games will be played at the Sheaffer Center each day involving OCU, LSU-Shreveport, host Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas), Texas College and Texas Wesleyan
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars (1-0) dropped an exhibition to Texas A&M 86-35 on Monday in College Station, Texas. Oklahoma City played on back-to-back days against top-25 NCAA competition. Texas holds the No. 2 spot in the rankings, while Texas A&M is ranked 20th
Daniela Galindo, a 5-foot-10 senior from Shattuck, Okla., had seven points, three assists and two steals. Galindo topped OCU with 19 points while adding four rebounds and two steals in the season-opening win at Langston on Nov. 1
Alexis Hill, a 6-1 senior from Byng, Okla., totaled seven points and five rebounds. She had six points and five rebounds against Langston
• The Stars led NAIA Division I in field-goal percentage (51.6 percent), free-throw percentage (77.7 percent) and assists (669) in 2016-17
• OCU owns the No. 1 spot in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. Oklahoma City has made 23 trips to the NAIA Division I Tournament and captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars have been installed as the favorite to win the Sooner Athletic Conference in the preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 17th SAC regular-season championships and 11th SAC Tournament title in 2016-17
• OCU rolled to an 82-58 victory over LSU-Shreveport on Nov. 18, 2016 in the Oklahoma City Classic at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars have a 2-0 record against LSU-Shreveport
• The Stars flattened Texas College 114-40 on Nov. 28, 2008 at Abe Lemons Arena in the OCU Thanksgiving Classic in the last encounter between the two teams. OCU improved to 4-0 against Texas College all-time
 
ABOUT THE PILOTS
• LSU-Shreveport comes off a 92-42 pounding of Dallas Christian on Nov. 7 in Dallas. LSU-Shreveport is off to a 4-0 start
• Destinee Thrash, a 5-5 junior, led the Pilots with 19 points and seven steals. Thrash provides LSU-Shreveport with 14.3 points and 3.25 steals a game
• LSU-Shreveport received votes in the preseason NAIA rankings
• LSU-Shreveport held the second spot in the preseason Red River Athletic Conference poll
 
ABOUT THE LADY STEERS
• Dillard (La.) crushed Texas College 82-41 on Monday in New Orleans. Texas College dropped to 0-2 on the season
• Linet Juma, a 6-foot center, posted 14 points and six rebounds. Juma averages 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a contest
• RRAC coaches predicted Texas College would finish eighth in the league
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (55-11, third season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 34-2 season, accruing 2017 NAIA Division I and Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year awards
• Overton has coached three all-Americans while at OCU, including Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
 
Matt Cross (4-0, first season with LSU-Shreveport)
• Came to LSU-Shreveport after going 152-49 with Talledega (Ala.) from 2012-17. Led Talledega to three consecutive Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season titles from 2014-16
• Head-coaching record of 247-91 coaching Texas College, Talledega and Lamar State-Port Arthur (Texas) in his 11th season
• Career postseason record of 22-9
