OCU pair nabs SAC men's soccer awards

Stars take both league honors for first time since 2010

OKLAHOMA CITY – Vladimir Kalajdzic and Logan Stewart of Oklahoma City University collected Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer player of the week awards for Sept. 6-11.
Stewart, a junior from Denton, Texas, scooped up SAC offensive player of the week, and Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, grabbed league defensive player of the week as OCU swept the conference men's soccer player of the week honors for the first time since Oct. 4, 2010.
Stewart tallied two goals and two assists for the Stars last week. Stewart delivered the only goal of OCU's 1-0 victory over Wiley (Texas) on Saturday at Stars Field. Stewart headed in the goal in the 42nd minute. Stewart provided the first goal of the night against Oklahoma Baptist while also assisting on a goal. On the season, Stewart has three goals and two assists.
Kalajdzic notched 18 saves in three OCU wins last week. Kalajdzic and Daniel Paugh combined for a shutout against Wiley on Saturday. Kalajdzic owns 25 saves this year.
The last Stars duo to sweep the SAC's weekly awards was Andy Fitzpatrick as defensive player of the week and Francis Malalou as the offensive honoree.
OCU (4-1) faces Texas A&M-Texarkana at 5 p.m. Thursday in Texarkana, Texas.
