THE MATCHUP:
Oklahoma City University squares off with top 25-rated competition in a road trip to New Orleans.
 
ABOUT THE STARS: Oklahoma City toasted Langston 85-49 on Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars (4-1) limited Langston to 28.6 percent from the floor.
Daniela Wallen, a 5-foot-11 senior from Caracas, Venezuela, posted 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Wallen hit 10 of her 13 shots from the field. She sparks OCU with 23.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.60 steals and 1.40 blocked shots a game.
Brooke Irwin, a 6-3 junior from Mustang, Okla., struck for 17 points and nine rebounds on 8-for-10 shooting from the field. Irwin accumulates 11.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game with a 61.7 field-goal percentage. Daniela Galindo, a 5-10 junior from Shattuck, Okla., had 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Galindo averages 18.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.00 steals in exhibition play.

The Stars hold the 19th spot in the preseason national rankings. OCU extended its streak of top-25 showings to 205 consecutive polls since 1999-2000. OCU owns national championships from 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014 and 2015. SAC coaches installed the Stars as the league's preseason favorite. OCU has won or shared the SAC regular-season crown 16 times.
 
ABOUT THE WOLF PACK: Loyola (La.) knocked off Southern-New Orleans 82-72 on Nov. 17 at First NBC Court in New Orleans. Loyola (4-1) prevailed despite shooting 37.0 percent from the field.
Meghan Temple, a 6-2 senior, amassed 29 points and eight rebounds while shooting 13-for-17 from the floor. Temple averages 16.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.50 blocks per game.
Loyola stands 24th in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. Loyola had been predicted to finish second in the Southern States Athletic Conference before the season.
 
ABOUT THE LADY KNIGHTS: In SUNO's loss to Loyola, Southern-New Orleans (2-1) managed 34.2 percent shooting from the floor.
Julia Alexander, a 6-1 junior, had 18 points, four rebounds and two assists. Alexander averages 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game.
Southern-New Orleans ranks ninth in the NAIA in 3-point percentage defense, holding opponents to 22.0 percent shooting. SUNO had been expected to take fifth in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
 
ABOUT THE COACHES: Bo Overton returns to OCU for his second season as its head coach. Overton has coaching experience on the professional level in China, Russia and the WNBA, as well as college head-coaching experience with Missouri-Kansas City. Overton has been an assistant on the international level for the Bahamas and China, including the 2012 Olympics with the Chinese team.
Kellie Kennedy notched her 173rd career coaching victory Nov. 17 to equal Loyola men's coach Jack Orsley for the most wins by a Loyola basketball coach. Kennedy already is the all-time winningest Loyola women's basketball coach in her ninth season at her post. She has led Loyola to two consecutive SSAC Tournament titles.
Roshaun Ambrose took over the Southern-New Orleans program this season.
