Ricks of Stars becomes SAC offensive player of week

Sophomore from Keller, Texas, turned in record-setting performance vs. Bacone

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sara Ricks took the Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer offensive player of the week after setting Oklahoma City University's single-match scoring record.
Ricks, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, posted six goals and an assist in the Stars' 14-0 rout of Bacone on Tuesday at Stars Field. Ricks broke OCU's record of five goals and equaled the Stars' point record.
Against Bacone, Ricks produced the Stars' first two goals unassisted. Ricks scored OCU's fourth goal unassisted, then netted the Stars' seventh, eighth and 10th goals. OCU led 10-0 at the 42:56 mark.
Amanda Jones scored five goals in OCU's 10-1 trouncing of the University of the Ozarks (Ark.) on Sept. 3, 2004 in Clarksville, Ark. Caroline Dixon matched Jones' record with five goals in the Stars' 8-0 dismantling of Mid-America Christian on Sept. 30, 2008 at Stars Field. Dixon tallied three assists for 13 points against Mid-America for the OCU record that Ricks matched.
