OCU comes up short to Central Oklahoma 20-15

Stars' Cody Sivertsen pins his 197-pound opponent

OKLAHOMA CITY – Central Oklahoma knocked off Oklahoma City University 20-15 on Wednesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Cody Sivertsen picked up the fall at 197 pounds as the Stars won the final three matches of the dual. Oklahoma City, ranked third in NAIA wrestling, went to 15-4 in duals.

Derek Sivertsen took a second-period penalty point from Mason Thompson for stalling as Sivertsen prevailed 2-1 at 184 pounds. Derek Sivertsen, a junior from Moore, Okla., also had an escape in the second period. Sivertsen (28-9) holds the No. 4 spot in the NAIA rankings at his weight.
Korey Walker took Evan McGee down with 30 seconds left in the 285-pound bout to win 3-2. Walker, a freshman from Midwest City, Okla., traded escapes with McGee until he snared the takedown. Walker (25-10) stands 11th in the ratings.
