OCU men drop season opener

Stewart had three shots

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University men's soccer team fell in its season opener 4-0 against Lyon (Ark.) on Saturday at Stars Field. The Stars are now 0-1 to start the season while Lyon (Ark.) improves to 2-0. The loss denied coach Brian Harvey of career win No. 725.
Harvey's combined men's and women's college record stands at 724-275-60 in his 30th year at OCU.
Logan Stewart had three shots, two shots on goal, while Alexandre Taiar recorded the only other shot and shot on goal.
Jonathan Ray broke the scoreless tie seconds into the second half with an assist by Estiven Ramirez-Garcia. The goal was Ray's third of the season.
Ramirez-Garcia recorded his second goal of the season in the 60:42 mark from an assist by Ray.
Jakob Josenberger scored his first goal of the year at 64:22 with the assist credited to Ramirez-Garcia.
Jack Fleming notched his second goal of the year at the 86:13 mark from another assist from Ray.
Goalkeeper Vladimir Kalajdzic did record two saves, but is credited with the loss. The goalkeeper for Lyon, Logan Miller, had three saves.
The next match for the Stars is vs. Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. Thursday in Shawnee, Okla.
