OCU collects 4-1 win over Robert Morris with dominant pitching

The Stars improved to 9-4 on the season.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University knocked off Robert Morris (Ill.) 4-1 Monday night at Jim Wade Stadium.
Two Stars' pitchers combined for 20 strikeouts. 16th-ranked OCU and improved to 9-4 on the year.
Joe Lytle, a freshman from Yukon, Okla., hit a fielder's choice to the second baseman that scored Reggie Wilson in the third inning, which was all the Stars needed for the victory.
 OCU added two runs in the fourth and an insurance run in the sixth.
Carlos Chavez, a junior from Rio Rancho, N.M., took a perfect game into the seventh inning where he hit the first batter of the inning. Robert Morris hit a bloop single over the short stop's head that broke up the no hitter and shut out.
J.J. Bissell, a junior from Windsor, Colo., went 3-for-4 and scored a run.
Chavez collected his first win of the season on seven innings pitched, giving up one hit, one run and struck out 15.
Holden Lyons picked up the save in two innings on one hit and struck out five.
The Stars take the field 3 p.m. Tuesday against Bacone at Jim Wade Stadium.
