Stars drop two in weekend series

OCU returns to action Sunday at 1 p.m.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University lost 9-3 against No. 10 LSU-Shreveport and 6-1 against Hastings (Neb.) Saturday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars, ranked 16th in the NAIA, combined for eight hits in two games and went to 2-2 on the season.
In the first game, OCU scored in the first inning from a sacrifice fly from Dylan Delso, a junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., that scored Joe Lytle.
The Stars scored two more runs in the third inning to pull within two, 5-3. Delso grounded into a double play that scored Lytle from third. Jared Baker, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., doubled to left field that scored Ryan Wright.
Skylar Janisse, a junior from LaSalle, Ontario, Canada, pitched three and a third innings and gave up six hits, seven runs and struck out eight in the loss.
In the second game, the Stars were only able to score one run. Baker hit into a fielder's choice that scored Reggie Wilson.
Jake Carson, a senior from Auburn, Wash., pitched three and a third innings and gave up eight hits, three earned runs and struck out two in the loss.
Oklahoma City hosts Hastings 1 p.m. Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium.
