OKLAHOMA CITY – Kirsten Thomas of Oklahoma City University notched Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week.
Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, had back-to-back shutouts during the week of Oct. 19-25. The Stars goalkeeper tallied seven saves in OCU's 1-0 victory Tuesday over St. Gregory's and a 3-0 win versus Texas Wesleyan on Saturday.
The SAC women's defensive player of the week honor was Thomas' second in a row and third on the season. The first came for the week of Aug. 31- Sept. 6, while the second came last week for Oct. 12-18. Thomas has amassed 45 saves, six shutouts and a 0.82 goals-against average this season.
The Stars (10-3-1, 6-0-1 SAC) return to action versus Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview, Texas. See the match live here.
