Thomas from Stars takes SAC defensive player of week

Freshman from Keller, Texas, adds second weekly SAC nod

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Kirsten Thomas reeled in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week for Oct. 12-18.
Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, posted her third shutout in a row and fourth whitewash in five matches in the Stars' 8-0 victory Saturday at Bacone. Thomas notched six saves in OCU's two wins last week.
Thomas raked in her second SAC defensive player of the week honor. She scooped up her first nod for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6. Thomas has accumulated 38 saves, four shutouts and a 0.96 goals-against average this season.
OCU (8-3-1, 4-0-1 SAC) takes on St. Gregory's at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field. Watch the match live here.
