Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University defeated Oklahoma Christian 4-0 on Thursday at Oklahoma Christian's Eagle Soccer Field.
Allison Worsham, a junior from Edmond, Okla., posted two goals to boost Oklahoma City. The Stars improved to 3-0 in women's soccer, while Oklahoma Christian started the season 0-1.
Vanessa Mendoza, a sophomore from Garland, Texas, scored her first goal of the season to put the Stars up 1-0 in the 10th minute. Carissa Turang, a senior from Whittier, Calif., had the assist.
Worsham found the back of the net in the 25th minute for her third goal of the season. The Stars took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Oklahoma City continued the pressure as Britani Soesbee, a junior from Edmond, Okla., scored her first goal of the season in the 59th minute to put the Stars up 3-0.
The Stars put the game out of reach when Worsham scored again in the 78th minute to extend the Oklahoma City lead to 4-0. Keren Sharabi, a senior from Petach-Tikva, Israel, picked up the assist.
Ashley Bechtold, a senior from Oklahoma City, collected six saves for the Stars. She notched her second shutout of the season. Oklahoma City built a 17-11 advantage in shots and 11-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Oklahoma City plays Oklahoma Wesleyan in the John Brown Invitational on Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. in Siloam Springs, Ark.
