OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University defeated Wayland Baptist 1-0 on Friday at Stars Field.
Ethan Berney, a senior from Oklahoma City, picked up his first goal on the season when he scored in the 27th minute off a Danny Frid cross. The Stars went to 2-3-1 in men's soccer.
Oklahoma City played a man down after Ruy Vas picked up his second yellow card of the game in the 63rd minute. The strong defensive stand by the Stars helped them prevail.
Vladimir Kalajdzic, a freshman from Novi Sad, Serbia, connected five saves and the shut-out for the Stars.
OCU takes on John Brown (Ark.) on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in Siloam Springs, Ark.
