Bechtold of OCU pulls in weekly SAC defensive honor

Senior from Oklahoma City wins for third consecutive week

Ashley Bechtold became conference defensive player of the week for the fifth time in her OCU career.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Ashley Bechtold of Oklahoma City University captured her third consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week award.
Bechtold, a senior from Oklahoma City, posted shutouts in OCU victories of Oklahoma Wesleyan and Bethel (Tenn.) over the weekend in Siloam Springs, Ark. She notched 10 saves in those matches.
The Stars have forged a 5-0 start with the help of Bechtold's 0.20 goals-against average. Bechtold has allowed one goal this year against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Aug. 31 in San Antonio. Bechtold has piled up 24 saves and four whitewashes.
OCU begins SAC play vs. Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at Stars Field.
