Stars defeat Oklahoma Wesleyan 1-0

OCU stays a perfect 4-0 on the season

Vanessa Mendoza scored her second goal of the season to push Stars over Oklahoma Wesleyan.

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University remained undefeated when they beat Oklahoma Wesleyan 1-0 on Friday in the John Brown Invitational.
Vanessa Mendoza, a sophomore from Garland, Texas, recorded her second goal of the season. The Stars improved to 4-0 while Oklahoma Wesleyan fell to 3-2 in women's soccer.
Britani Soesbee, a junior from Edmond, Okla., took a shot in the 86th minute that went off the post. Mendoza was able to clean up and find the back of the net to score the game winner.
Ashley Bechtold, a senior from Oklahoma City, had six saves for the Stars. She collected her third shutout of the season.
OCU plays Bethel (Tenn.) at 5 p.m. Saturday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
