Bechtold of OCU awarded SAC defensive player of week

Senior from Oklahoma City nabs third weekly league award

Ashley Bechtold hauled in her first SAC defensive player of the week nod since Oct. 1, 2012.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Ashley Bechtold of Oklahoma City University reeled in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week for Aug. 25-31.
Bechtold, a senior goalkeeper from Oklahoma City, collected eight saves and a shutout in two Stars victories over the weekend. Bechtold became league defensive player of the week for the third time in her career and first time since Sept. 24-30, 2012.
Oklahoma City knocked off Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), ranked 19th in the NAIA, as Bechtold posted four saves.
The Stars meet Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City in an away match.
