Stars upends Our Lady of the Lake 2-1

Worsham scores second goal of year to help Stars topple 19th-ranked Saints

Allison Worsham scored her second goal of the season Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City University topped Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 2-1 on Sunday at OLLU Field.
Allison Worsham, a junior from Edmond, Okla., put the Stars on top when she found the back of the net in the 10th minute for her second goal in as many games. Oklahoma City improved to 2-0 in women's soccer, while Our Lady of the Lake, ranked 19th in the NAIA, fell to 1-1.
The Saints tied the score a minute later when Hayley Tiernay scored. Stephania Vazquez dished out the assist.
OCU scored on an own goal by Our Lady of the Lake in the 88th minute to give the Stars the victory. An Our Lady of the Lake player allowed the ball to deflect off her into the goal.
The physical match provided 22 fouls and two yellow cards, one for each school.
Ashley Bechtold, a senior from Oklahoma City, had four saves for the Stars.
OCU take on Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City on the road.
