OCU shuts out Houston-Victoria 2-0

Allison Worsham scored to push Stars past Houston-Victoria in season opener
Box Score SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City University blanked Houston-Victoria 2-0 on Friday in the Stars' women's soccer season opener at Our Lady of the Lake Field.
Allison Worsham, a junior from Edmond, Okla., scored the first goal of the season for the Stars. Worsham beat the Jaguars' keeper on a breakaway opportunity in the 16th minute to put the Stars ahead.
Vanessa Mendoza provided Worsham the assist on the Stars' first goal of the season. Kayla McKenna found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to extend the lead to 2-0 before halftime. Keren Sherabi had the assist on OCU's second goal.
The OCU defense held Houston-Victoria scoreless despite the Jaguars' 11-9 shot advantage.
Ashley Bechtold anchored the defense, playing all 90 minutes and collecting four saves.
The Stars will take on Our Lady of the Lake at 1 p.m. Sunday in San Antonio.
