OCU falls short against Texas Wesleyan

The Stars went to 5-7-1

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma City University dropped to Texas Wesleyan 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday at Martin Field.
The Stars have lost two straight overtime games. Christy Tran scored her first goal as a Star. OCU went to 5-7-1, 3-4-1 in Sooner Athletic women's soccer.
Lauren Kee scored in the 14th minute to give Texas Wesleyan the early lead. Her goal came off a rebound.
Tran, a junior from Wichita, Kan., leveled the score for the Stars in the 39th minute. Vanessa Mendoza and Allison Worsham provided the assists.
OCU took the lead in the 57th minute off the foot of Britani Soesbee. Soesbee, a junior from Edmond, Okla., took a shot inside the 18-yard box for her fourth goal of the season.
Texas Wesleyan tied the score at two in the 88th minute. Sandy Villarreal sent the ball in off a corner kick and Jordan Stellato found the back of the net.
Texas Wesleyan's Paige Wheaton scored the game winner two minutes into the second overtime period.
Ashley Bechtold, a senior from Oklahoma City, collected two saves in 54 minutes of play, while Angela Clifton, a junior from Bethany, Okla., had five saves in 48 minutes.
OCU will celebrate senior night against USAO 5 p.m. Friday at Stars Field.
