OCU remains unbeaten in conference play

Stars improve to 5-3-2, 3-0-1 SAC play

Kieran McLachlan produced the game winning goal against Southwestern Christian.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University defeated Southwestern Christian 3-2 on Tuesday night at Stars Field.
Kieran McLachlan, a senior from Airdrie, Scotland, produced the game winner for the Stars. OCU improved to 5-3-2, 3-0-1 in Sooner Athletic men's soccer.
The Stars jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Danny Frid, a senior from Raunds, England, scored in the seventh minute. Alexandre Taiar, a freshman from Sao, Paulo, Brazil, provided the assist.
Southwestern Christian fought back with two goals in a row. Adam Kay found Tevin Black in the 43rd minute to tie the game at one. 37 seconds later Jamie Campbell scored to put Southwestern Christian up 2-1.
Ruy Vaz, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, scored his sixth goal of the season in the 53rd minute to tie the score again. Logan Stewart, a freshman from Denton, Texas, produced the assist.
McLachlan put the Stars ahead for good in the 73rd minute. McLachlan stole the ball from a Southwestern Christian defender and slid the ball past the goalie for his second goal of the year.
Vladimir Kalajdzic, a freshman from Novi Sad, Serbia, collected four saves for the Stars.
OCU plays again 7 p.m. Oct. 21 against Oklahoma Baptist at Stars Field.
