OCU falls 2-1 to Our Lady of the Lake

Stars move to 4-3 overall

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell 2-1 to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) Saturday at Stars Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 12 in NAIA women's soccer, outshot the Saints 18-7 but failed to take advantage and moved to 4-3 on the season.
Our Lady of the Lake took the lead in the 22nd minute when Stephanie Vazquez found the back of the net.
The Saints pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 31st minute when Teegan Luckmeyer took a long pass from Haley Tiernay and scored.
The Stars responded in the 56th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick. Meghan McMahon took advantage and scored her seventh goal of the season, but OCU failed to complete the comeback and fell 2-1.
OCU goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed shared playing time between the posts. Reed started and made one save in 45 minutes of action while Bechtold played a scoreless second half.
OCU will kickoff Sooner Athletic Conference play against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) at 1 p.m. Sept. 28 in Waxahachie, Texas.
