Stars shut out Oklahoma Wesleyan 2-0

OCU earns fourth consecutive victory

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University topped Oklahoma Wesleyan 2-0 to pick up its fourth straight win Tuesday at Stars Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 12 in NAIA women's soccer, got eight saves from the goalkeeping duo of Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed and notched their first shutout of the season. With the win, OCU improved to 4-2 on the season.
OCU jumped on the scoreboard in the 37th minute when Allie Glazner's corner kick found Allison Worsham who found the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
After a lengthy rain delay during halftime, Meghan McMahon took a pass from Worsham and scored her sixth goal of the season to give OCU the 2-0 victory.
Reed got the start in goal and made four saves in the first half. Bechtold took over goalkeeping duties in the second half and made four saves.
OCU will return to action against Our Lady of Lake (Texas) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field.
