USAO upends Stars 6-1

OCU falls to 3-4-2 in SAC play

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Oklahoma City University fell 6-1 to USAO Friday at Drover Pitch.
The Stars, now 7-7-2 overall and 3-4-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play, took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute but surrendered six unanswered goals and suffered the 6-1 setback.
The Stars jumped on the scoreboard first in the fifth minute when Trevor Harmon beat the USAO defense and scored his third goal of the season to give OCU a 1-0 advantage.
The Drovers evened the score at one goal apiece when Niall Burley got a pass from Liam Madden and scored in the 14th minute.
USAO took a 2-1 lead in the 40th minute when Stephen Owusu took a ball from Nicolas Alberto and found the back of the net.
USAO got a goal from Perry Sansford in the 48th minute and another from Alberto in the 54th minute to extend its lead to 4-1.
Sansford scored again in the 77th minute and Kyle Maxwell capped the scoring in the 82nd minute to give USAO a 6-1 victory.
Goalkeeper Joe Shulberg played all 90 minutes in goal for the Stars and made five saves.
OCU will return to action in its regular-season finale against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) at 2 p.m. Nov. 4 in Waxahachie, Texas.
