Stars blank Wayland Baptist 1-0

OCU notches third shutout in last four matches

Allie Glazner tallied her fourth assist of the season against Wayland Baptist.

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Oklahoma City University blanked Wayland Baptist (Texas) 1-0 Sunday at Hilliard Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 24 in NAIA women's soccer, posted their third shutout in the last four matches and improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
OCU outshot Wayland Baptist 14-2 in the first half, but could not find the back of the net and the two sides played a scoreless first 45 minutes.
The Stars took and 1-0 advantage in the 59th minute when Allie Glazner's free kick found Gianna Puskarich who took the pass and beat Wayland Baptist goalkeeper Keri Myers to score her first goal of the season.
The OCU defense held Wayland Baptist to just three shots with no shots on goal in the match and the Stars took the 1-0 victory.
OCU will return home to face St. Gregory's at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
