Oklahoma Baptist upsets OCU 2-1

Stars move to 5-1 in SAC play

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University suffered a 2-1 setback at the hands of Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday at OBU Soccer Complex.
The Stars, ranked No. 19 in NAIA women's soccer, got a goal from Gianna Puskarich in the 53rd minute but could not erase an early two-goal deficit and moved to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Oklahoma Baptist took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute when Mackenzie Bruton took a pass from Shelbie Shawn and scored.
The Lady Bison doubled their lead in the 20th minute when Ailee Pewitt corralled a loose ball in the box and scored.
The Stars cut into the Oklahoma Baptist lead in the 53rd minute when Puskarich scored her third goal of the season.
OCU outshot Oklahoma Baptist 28-10 on the match, but couldn't score the equalizer and fell 2-1.
OCU will return to action against Mid-America Christian at 5 p.m. Friday at Stars Field.
