OCU ties Our Lady of Lake 1-1

OCU got an early goal from Trevor Harmon, but could not hold the 1-0 lead

Trevor Harmon netted his third goal of the season against Our Lady of the Lake.

SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City University played to a 1-1 draw with Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) Sunday at OLLU Soccer Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 22 in NAIA men's soccer, scored in the first half but could not hold the lead and move to 5-1-3 on the season.
Junior Adam Black and sophomore Michael Shanahan put shots on goal early in the first half, but Saints' goalkeeper Martin Hansson saved both attempts to keep the score tied at 0-0.
In the 16th minute, junior Trevor Harmon beat Hansson to net his third goal of the season and make the score 1-0 in favor of OCU.
Junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard made a pair of saves in the first half to keep the score 1-0 at the half.
Our Lady of the Lake evened the score at 1-1 in the 82nd minute when Robert Alexe took a pass from Elias Cortes and scored.
Saint goalkeeper Luis Gonzalez made four saves in the second half to send the match to overtime.
Howard made a save in the 93rd minute to keep Our Lady of the Lake off the scoreboard and send the match to double overtime.
Sophomore Kieran McLachlan put a shot on goal in the 106th minute, but Gonzalez saved it and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Howard made five saves in 110 minutes of work.
The Stars will return to action against Rogers State in their Sooner Athletic Conference opener at 4 p.m. Friday at Soldier Field in Claremore, Okla.
