Stars fall 3-2 to Houston-Victoria

OCU took a 2-0 lead but surrendered three unanswered goals in the loss

VICTORIA, Texas – Oklahoma City University fell 3-2 to Houston-Victoria (Texas) in double overtime Friday at the Cage.
The Stars, ranked No. 22 in NAIA men's soccer, took a 2-0 lead but surrendered three unanswered goals in the loss to move to 5-1-2 on the season.
OCU got on the scoreboard in the 39th minute when sophomore Sam Stulberg's shot deflected off a Houston-Victoria defender and into the net to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Stars.
In the 50th minute, the Stars doubled their lead when senior Nathan Doll took a free kick from midfield and picked out junior Trevor Harmon who scored his second goal of the season to make the score 2-0.
Houston-Victoria's Able Farias took a pass from Stiven Ospina in the 70th minute and beat junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard to make the score 2-1.
In the 78th minute, the Jaguars' Matthew Johnson took a corner kick and found Austin Chadwick who headed the ball into the goal to tie the game at 2-2 and send the match to overtime.
In the 109th minute Ospina beat Howard to end the match and hand OCU its first loss of the season.
Howard made nine saves in 109 minutes of action.
The Stars will return to action against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) at 2 p.m. Sunday in San Antonio.
