OCU tops Texas Wesleyan 1-0

Kieran McLachlan took advantage of a penalty kick and gave OCU it's fifth win of the season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University held off Texas Wesleyan 1-0 Tuesday at Stars Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 22 in NAIA men's soccer, scored on a penalty kick from sophomore Kieran McLachlan, of Airdrie, Scotland, to stay unbeaten on the season and move to 5-0-2.
Junior goalkeeper Joe Shulberg made a save in the first minute of the game to keep Texas Wesleyan off the scoreboard.
Juniors Adam Black and Trevor Harmon along with McLachlan put shots on goal in the first half, but Texas Wesleyan goalkeeper Dejan Milosevic saved all three to keep the match scoreless.
In the 64th minute, OCU drew a foul in the box and was awarded a penalty kick. McLachlan took advantage and beat Milosevic to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Stars.
Junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard made a relief appearance in the second half and made two saves to help OCU hang on and take the 1-0 victory.
OCU will hit the road to take on Houston-Victoria (Texas) at 5 p.m. Friday in Victoria, Texas.
