Stars bounce Bacone 3-0

Freshman Allison Worsham scored her fourth and fifth goals of the season to help OCU stay unbeaten

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University bounced Bacone 3-0 Saturday in the John Brown Classic at Alumni Field.
The Stars, ranked No. 5 in NAIA women's soccer, scored all three goals in the first half to pick up the win and move to 4-0 overall.
OCU got on the scoreboard in the second minute of the match when freshman Allison Worsham took a pass from junior Meghan McMahon and scored to put the Stars on top 1-0.
Sophomore Sandra Hallin stretched the OCU lead to 2-0 in the 25th minute when she got a pass from McMahon and beat Bacone goalkeeper Tara Thompson to score her first goal of the season.
Worsham netted her fifth goal of the year in the 30th minute when she took a pass from junior Gianna Puskarich and scored to give the Stars the 3-0 victory.
Junior goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed split time between the posts and combined for a second straight shutout. Bechtold got the start and made the team's only save.
The Stars outshot Bacone 24-4 on the match.
OCU will return to action against Texas Wesleyan at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
