Stars finish tied for second in Northwood Spring Invitational

James Marchesani finished third overall

Michael Palmer finished 11th overall in the Northwood Spring Invitational.
IRVING, Texas – Third-ranked Oklahoma City University placed second in the Northwood Spring Invitational at TPC Four Season Tuesday.
The Stars, ranked third in the NAIA, shot 286-300-299-885 in three rounds on the par-70 course to finish in a tie for second with Southern Nazarene, 12 shots behind first-place Oklahoma Christian.
Sophomore James Marchesani shot 64-76-74-214 and finished third overall. Marchesani, of Rosebud, Victoria, Australia, carded 12 birdies and one eagle in three rounds of action and finished three shots behind tournament winner Jared Consoli of Oklahoma Christian.
Michael Palmer shot 74-71-78-223 and tied for 11th. The junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, carded eight birdies and an eagle in three rounds of play.
Senior Clark Collier fired 73-75-79-227, junior Sondre Ronold shot 77-79-71-227 and senior Taylor Artman finished with a 75-78-76-229.
The Stars will return to action in the Texas Intercollegiate Sunday at the Hawks Creek Golf Course in Fort Worth, Texas.
