Three Stars tie for sixth in San Antonio Shoot-Out

Third-ranked OCU finishes in front of seven top-25 teams

Taylor Artman ended up nine strokes out of first place Tuesday.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Oklahoma City University took third place in the San Antonio Shoot-Out on Tuesday at the Bandit Golf Club.
The Stars, ranked third in NAIA men's golf, fired 308-298-295–901 as Taylor Artman and Clark Collier tied for sixth individually.
Artman, a senior from Norman, Okla., posted a 72-73-75–220 for OCU. Artman knocked in two birdies Tuesday to finish with 10 in the tournament on the par-71, 6,928-yard course.
Collier, a senior from Edmond, Okla., put together a 73-74-73–220 for the Stars. Collier sank an eagle Tuesday. Artman and Collier finished nine shots off the pace set by Joel Thelen of Texas Wesleyan.
The Stars' Elliot Groves and Cameron Meyers tied for 40th place. Groves shot an 82-80-78–240, while Meyers carded an 81-84-75–240.
Michael Palmer, playing unattached, tied for sixth place with a 79-69-72–220. Palmer buried three birdies Tuesday to end up with 10 for the three rounds. Sondre Ronold, OCU's other unattached individual, had an 81-69-74–224.
Oklahoma Christian, the top-ranked defending national champion, won the event that featured 10 ranked teams and two other teams receiving votes in the preseason NAIA rankings. Sixth-ranked Texas Wesleyan finished second.
The Stars competes next in the Northwood Spring Invitational on March 5-6 at the TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas.
