Stars fall 1-0 to John Brown

OCU dropped its regular-season finale and move to 8-6-3 overall

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University fell 1-0 to John Brown (Ark.) Saturday at Alumni Field.
The Stars surrendered a late second-half goal and finished their regular season with an overall record of 8-6-3 and a Sooner Athletic Conference record of 3-5.
Sophomore Ethan Berney, of Oklahoma City, and junior Trevor Harmon, of Allen, Texas, each put a shot on goal in the first half, but John Brown goalkeeper Pablo Garcia saved both attempts to keep the Stars off the scoreboard.
Junior goalkeeper Joe Shulberg, of Huntingdon, England, made saves in the 17th and 33rd minutes to keep the match scoreless at halftime.
Senior Ryan Hunter, of Tulsa, Okla., and freshman Daniel Yeom, of Tongyeong, South Korea, both had shots saved by Garcia in the second half.
Shulberg notched saves in the 53rd and 61st minutes to keep the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard.
The Stars were awarded a penalty kick in the 85th minute, but sophomore Kieran McLachlan, of Airdrie, Scotland, had his attempt saved by Garcia.
Andre Sandiford-Williams scored off a rebound in the 87th minute to give John Brown the 1-0 victory.
Shulberg made four saves in 90 minute of action.
The Stars will enter the SAC Tournament as the seventh or eighth seed and will likely travel to play Rogers State or USAO on Saturday.
