Stars rank fourth in MRPI

OCU is 15-1 on the season and ranked ninth in the NAIA coaches' poll

Rachael O'Brien and the OCU defense have posted 12 shutouts on the season.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University checked in at No. 4 in the second edition of the 2012 NAIA women's soccer modified ratings percentage index Wednesday.
The Stars, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA coaches' poll, smashed St. Gregory's 7-0 Tuesday and improved to 15-1 on the season and 6-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. OCU trails only Concordia (Ore.), Lee (Tenn.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in the rankings. To see the entire rankings, click here.
The MRPI consists of the team's modified winning percentage, their opponents' winning percentage and the cumulative ratings points from the NAIA women's soccer coaches' top-25 poll. Each of the three values has a weighted percentage calculated in the MRPI. The MRPI modifies the value of home/away/neutral results and adds more value for games against opponents ranked in their respective national poll.
OCU defeated Western State (Colo.) on Oct. 7 to give head coach Brian Harvey his 300th win as a women's soccer coach. The Stars' only loss came on Oct. 2 on the road against Mid-America Christian in overtime.
OCU boasts three players that have scored 10 goals or more this season. Junior Meghan McMahon leads the team and the SAC with 22 goals. Freshman Allison Worsham has scored 16 goals and senior Sheridan Horner has netted 10.
The OCU goalkeepers and defense have combine to post 12 shutouts on the season. Juniors Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed have allowed just five goals in 16 matches this season.
The Stars will wrap up the regular season against John Brown (Ark.) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Ark.
