Stars fall 2-1 to St. Gregory's

OCU played its eighth overtime game of the season against St. Gregory's

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University fell 2-1 in overtime to St. Gregory's Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
The Stars tied the match in the 82nd minute before falling 2-1 in overtime and moving to 8-5-3 overall and 3-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard made a pair of saves early in the first half to keep the match scoreless.
In the31st minute, Jason Swift beat Howard to give St. Gregory's a 1-0 lead.
Junior Adam Black, freshman A.J. Dodson and sophomore Sam Stulberg all put shots on goal in the first half, but St. Gregory's goalkeeper Brock Vorwald saved every Stars' attempt to keep the score 1-0.
The Stars jumped on the scoreboard in the 82nd minute when freshman Daniel Yeom beat Vorwald to make the score 1-1 and send the match to overtime.
In the 100th minute Alex Burton took a pass from Joel Petillon and scored to give St. Gregory's the 2-1 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Joe Shulberg and Howard split time between the posts. Howard got the start and made a pair of saves.
The Stars will wrap up the regular season against John Brown (Ark.) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Ark.
