Stars shock Wayland Baptist 1-0

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University slipped past Wayland Baptist (Texas) 1-0 Saturday at Stars Field.
 OCU got the game-winning goal from junior Trevor Harmon, of Allen, Texas, in the 87th minute of the match to improve to 8-4-3 on the season and 3-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Sophomore Adam Black, of Liverpool, England, put a shot on goal in the 17th minute, but Wayland Baptist goalkeeper John-Ramses Thomas saved it to keep the score level at 0-0.
Junior goalkeeper Jalen Howard, of Oklahoma City, made saves in the 49th, 73rd and 82nd minutes of the match to keep the Pioneers scoreless.
In the 86th minute, Harmon had his shot saved by Thomas. Black recovered the loose ball and sent a pass into the box that found Harmon. Harmon took the pass and scored his fifth goal of the season to give the Stars the 1-0 victory.
Howard made three saves to pick up his second shutout of the season. It was the sixth shutout of the year for the OCU defense.
OCU will return to action against St. Gregory's at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field in Shawnee, Okla.
