OCU's Bechtold snags SAC defensive player of the week honors

Ashley Bechtold was named SAC defensive player of the week for the second time this season

Ashley Bechtold made five saves in a shutout against Rogers State.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Ashley Bechtold was named Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week Monday.
Bechtold, a goalkeeper from Oklahoma City, recorded five saves in a shutout at Rogers State to help OCU, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, move to 8-0 on the season and 1-0 in SAC play. The junior owns three shutouts on the year.
Bechtold has stopped 19 shots on the season while allowing just one goal in eight appearances. She is ranked third in the NAIA in goals against per game (0.170).
Bechtold was also named SAC defensive player of the week for Oct. 20-26 when she helped OCU shutout No.6 Baker (Kan.) in double overtime.
The Stars will face off against Mid-America Christian at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Evangel Field in Oklahoma City.
