OCU drops Houston-Victoria 4-0

Stars move to 5-1 entering SAC play

McMahon scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season Sunday.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University shut down Houston-Victoria 4-0 on Sunday at Stars field.
The Stars, ranked 16th in NAIA women's soccer, went to 5-1 on the season.
Sophomore Meghan McMahon scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season to help the Stars win their last non-conference contest.
OCU got on the board in the ninth minute when McMahon took a pass from freshman Allie Glazner and found the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
The Stars added to their lead in the 20th minute when sophomore Blerta Rashica scored her fifth goal of the season on a free kick from the top of the box to make the score 2-0.
Houston-Victoria's Ashley Fredrick appeared to have scored a goal in the seconds before halftime, but the referees decided time had expired before the ball crossed the goal line and the goal was disallowed.
McMahon struck again in the 47th minute scoring on a pass from junior Sheridan Horner to make the score 3-0.
The Stars topped the game off with an unassisted goal in the 89th minute from Horner to make the final score 4-0.
OCU played stingy defense only allowing three shots on goal in five attempts.
Sophomore goalkeeper Alissa Reed recorded the shutout, making three saves in 90 minutes of action.
The Stars will open Sooner Athletic Conference play against Oklahoma Christian at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
