Stars play host to Oklahoma Baptist in SAC tournament first-round match

OCU enters conference tournament as No. 4 seed

Steven Short leads the Stars with six assists in 2011.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University will host a first-round match in the Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament thanks to a late-season surge.
The Stars host Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. Friday at Stars Field.
OCU defeated Southern Nazarene 2-1 Tuesday to move to 7-5-4, 5-3-2 in conference play and grab the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. The Stars defeated Oklahoma Baptist 2-1 on Oct. 11.
OCU has won three consecutive matches.
"The men started a little shaky, but ultimately they have gotten it right at the right time, if you're going to be playing well this is the best time," OCU coach Brian Harvey said. "They really step into the game against OBU with a lot of confidence having been undefeated in their last four games."
Sophomore Adam Black leads the Stars on offense with 13 goals and was named SAC player of the week twice. Senior defender Steven Short leads the team in assists with six.
OCU defeated two top-25 squads this season and has won nine SAC titles, most recently in 2008.
