OCU hammers Missouri Valley 34-8

Stars post four falls to remain unbeaten

Logan Rich picked up a fall Wednesday.

MARSHALL, Mo. – Oklahoma City University pummeled Missouri Valley 34-8 on Wednesday at the Redford Gym.
The Stars, ranked No. 1 in the Women's College Wrestling Association, improved to 11-0 in duals this season. OCU has gone 62-0-1 in its last 63 duals. Sixth-ranked Missouri Valley went to 6-3.
OCU has won the past three WCWA national championships and four NWCA National Duals titles.
OCU's Jennifer Page, ranked second at 143 pounds, defeated Jordan Hagerman, ranked sixth at 155, 1-0, 6-2 in the 155-pound match. The Stars' Brittany Delgado, top-ranked at 191, pinned Paloma Basulto at the 53-second mark in the second period. Basulto was ranked fifth at 191.
Brittney Roberts of OCU knocked off Brittany Jones 4-0, 4-0. Roberts entered at No. 2 at 170 pounds, while Jones was seventh. The Stars' Brieanna Delgado, No. 4 at 123, won 5-1, 1-0 over Summer Sistad, ranked seventh at 130.
Joey Miller, Tessa Plana and Logan Rich also posted falls for the Stars. Miller, ranked second at 116 pounds, finished her match against Samantha Lovelace in 36 seconds.
Rich pinned Shona Colbert 31 seconds into the second period, while Plana, No. 1 at 136, ended her bout against Mayleen Soto in 1:28.
The Stars meet Missouri Baptist at noon Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Abe Lemons Arena.
