OCU finishes third in Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate

Artman, Palmer turn in top-10 individual finishes

Taylor Artman finished fourth place individually in the Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate on Tuesday at River Oaks Golf Club.
EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University, ranked third in Golf World's NAIA men's golf rankings, shot 289 in the windy final round to finish third in the Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate Tuesday at River Oaks Golf Club.
The Stars shot 290-284-289-863 over three rounds on the par-71 course to finish in third place. OCU finished seven strokes behind Grand View (Iowa), ranked second in the NAIA, and 13 behind Oklahoma Christian, ranked first in the NAIA.
Senior Taylor Artman fired a third-round 71 to finish fourth overall for the Stars.
Junior Michael Palmer finished in a tie for eighth place after carding a third-round 72, and sophomore James Marchesani shot 72 in round three to finish tied for 12th.
Junior Sondre Ronold and senior Clark Collier both shot 74 in the third round to finish tied for 17th and 24th respectively.
OCU's second team shot 304 in the final round and moved up two spots to finish in tenth.
Elliot Groves fired 72 to finish in a tie for 24th, Jacob Simon shot 75, Jim Akerstrom shot 80, Mark Anderson carded 77 and Brian Price, who carded one of the tournament's eight eagles, shot 81.
The Oklahoma Christian Intercollegiate is the final fall event scheduled for the Stars.
