OCU shut out 3-0 by Rogers State

Stars move to 2-4-3, 0-2-1 in SAC play

Box Score CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University men's soccer lost 3-0 to Rogers State on Friday at Soldier Field.
With the loss the Stars move to 2-4-3 on the season and 0-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
OCU fell behind in the 24th minute when Rogers State's Henrique Sousa beat sophomore goalkeeper Joe Shulberg from the top of the box to take a 1-0 lead.
In the 31st minute the Stars found themselves behind by two goals after scoring an own goal when trying to clear a ball out of the box to make the score 2-0.
Rogers State tacked on one more goal in the 68th minute when Grant Smith got past Shulberg and two other OCU defenders to make the final score 3-0.
Freshman Adam Black, juniors Preston Cox and Nathan Doll and senior Steven Short all had shots on goal, but were unable to put the ball past Rogers State goalkeeper Jeremy Swift who made five saves.
Shulberg allowed three goals and made two saves in 90 minutes of action.
The Stars will return to the pitch against Oklahoma Baptist at 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 in Shawnee, Okla.
