OCU falls 2-1 to John Brown

The Stars move to 2-3-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in SAC play

Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University men's soccer dropped its first Sooner Athletic Conference game Wednesday 2-1 to John Brown (Ark.).
With the loss the Stars move to 2-3-3 on the season and 1-0-1 in SAC play.
OCU jumped out to an early lead in the 26th minute when senior Steven Short found freshman Adam Black who scored his fifth goal of the season to make the score 1-0.
John Brown drew even in the 36th minute when Daniel Forry took a pass from Martin Gonzalez and scored to make the score 1-1.
The Stars put pressure on the John Brown defense in the first half putting four of their 11 shots on goal.
John Brown took the lead in the 60th minute when Hunter Bradford played a long ball into the box finding Forry to make the score 2-1 after junior defender David Kamali and sophomore goalkeeper Joe Shulberg collided.
The Stars outshot John Brown 21-12 on the match, but were unable to find the back of the net making the final score 2-1.
Shulberg faced 12 shots, allowed two goals and made four saves in 90 minutes of action.
OCU will return to the pitch against Rogers State at 4 p.m. Friday in Claremore, Okla.
