OCU draws 1-1 with Wayland Baptist on the road

The Stars move to 4-5-4 on the season and 2-3-2 in SAC play

Box Score PLAINVIEW, Texas – Oklahoma City University men's soccer played to a 1-1 draw Saturday in double overtime against Wayland Baptist (Texas) on the road at Hilliard Field.
The Stars played to their fourth draw of the season and move to 4-5-4 on the year and 2-3-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
OCU and Wayland Baptist played a scoreless first half, but OCU managed four shots on goal and allowed none for Wayland Baptist.
Wayland Baptist broke into the score column in the 50th minute when Saman Hassan beat sophomore goalkeeper Joe Shulberg to make the score 1-0.
In the 78th minute sophomore Adam Black scored his 10th goal of the season to equalize for the Stars to make the score 1-1.
In overtime OCU outshot Wayland Baptist 5-1, but were unable to score the deciding goal and the game ended with a score of 1-1.
Shulberg allowed one goal and made one save in 110 minutes of action for the Stars.
OCU put 10 of its 20 shots on goal while the Stars defense only allowed two shots on goal for Wayland Baptist.
The Stars will return to the pitch against Mid-America Christian at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
