Stars crush St. Gregory's 9-0

McMahon notches seventh multi-goal match of her career

Sheridan Horner increased her season goal total to five Saturday.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Sheridan Horner posted her first career hat trick as Oklahoma City University overwhelmed St. Gregory's 9-0 on Saturday at Stars Field.
Horner, a junior from Choctaw, Okla., increased her season goal total to five. The Stars, ranked 13th in NAIA women's soccer, moved to 10-1-1, 5-0-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Meghan McMahon, a sophomore from Oklahoma City, scored OCU's first goal unassisted at the 13:48 mark. She notched her 13th and 14th goals of the year.
McMahon's second goal came in the 71st minute off Blerta Rashica's feed. McMahon picked up her fourth multi-goal match of the year and seventh of her career. McMahon has scored in 10 of OCU's 12 matches this year.
Ariel Bayatfar, a sophomore from Ada, Okla., tallied her first two goals of the year. Bayatfar picked up two unassisted goals, the first at 22:44 and the second inside the final minute. Bayatfar also scored twice against Belhaven (Miss.) on Sept. 6, 2010.
Lauren Haymans, a senior from Choctaw, Okla., posted her first goal of the season at 51:17 unassisted. Rashica, a sophomore from Orebro, Sweden, scored for the seventh time in 2011 off McMahon's assist at 72:54.
The Stars racked up their eighth shutout of the year. Alissa Reed and Ashley Bechtold led the way as they were in goal.
OCU generated 25 shots and 15 on goal as St. Gregory's mustered one shot.
The Stars take on Lubbock Christian (Texas) at 1 p.m. Thursday at LCU Soccer Field in Lubbock, Texas.
